TAPS Winebar

Eva Fricke

Kiedrich Trocken

WINE 53

COMPLEX & DELICATE

Delicate aroma of lemon and lime and a terrific counterbalance between very crisp acidity and the depth of fruit and texture. A slight smokiness on the palate to bring complexity to the crystalline fruit.

This wine is referred to as a Gutswein, an ‘estate wine’, because the fruit comes from different vineyards in the villages of Kiedrich, Hattenheim, Eltville and Oberwalluf, 80% from her own vineyards and 20% bought from another grower she has been working with for three years.

KOMPLEKS & DELIKAT

ABOUT THE WINERY

EVA FRICKE

Eva Fricke has now had her own domain for more than 10 years. After an international wine education, she started for herself in 2006. In the beginning with only 0.2 ha, but since then it has been gradually expanded in the best areas of Lorch and Kiedrich. Many of the fields are located in historic UNESCO-protected areas. From the beginning, Eva Fricke has been working after organic/biodynamic methods and she is constantly working to "understand" the fields.

General grape descriptions

Riesling

Riesling is grape from the Alsace region (France), Germany and Austria but Germany is the largest producer in the word of Riesling wines,  which goes from the dry wines to sweet. This grape is cultivated in warm or cold climates and produces high-quality wines witch evolve well over the years. They are very aromatic wines and with pronounced acidity. Riseling wines with sweet characteristics goes well with spicy food as Indian and Thai cuisine. The dried Riesling  goes well with slightly fat meats like the duck. Most present aromas: lima, green apple, beeswax, jasmine and gasoline.
