Jeff Carrel

Vielle Mule Golden Rosé

WINE 70

FRESH & DRY

An unconventional rosé wine - exactly as winemaker Jeff Carrel is - made from red grapes (60% Grenache) blended with white (40% Muscat). The wine tastes of rosé - but the color appears very light due to being mixed with white wine. Super fresh, dry and very mouth-watering. It masters the fine balance between fruit intensity and lightness of expression. Small red berries and a hint of melon, orange blossom, dried spices balanced by a fine acidity.

ABOUT THE WINERY

JEFF CARREL

Jeff Carrel is originally a chemist from Paris without a wine family. He studied oenology with interest and it captivated him more and more. For many years he has made wine for others around the world and in various French wine regions; and later for himself with rented land or bought grapes and loaned cellar equipment in the South of France; driven by his persistent ambition and interest.Via his large network, both within trade and the gradually many growers he has worked with, he operates as an octopus in many locations throughout the Languedoc-Roussillon area. In 2017, he was finally able to set up his own domicile in an old wine cellar from 1857 in Corbieres, with 31 tanks and various oak barrels, but still makes many of his wines at other vineyards. He sees grape varieties, soils, local climate conditions and vinification techniques as a gigantic puzzle that he can utilize to make wines in the style he likes.
