Chateau Henri Bonnaud

Steff Rosé

FINE & ELEGANT

In the Steff rosé you sense everything that a rosé from Provence should have: the southern sun, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. A delicate and complex scent with fine tones of pepper, almonds and small red berries. The taste is elegant, juicy and fruity with light berries and a slight streak of licorice. The Cinsault and Grenache grapes are organically grown and grow on a mixture of clay and lime. After a cold maceration for 3-4 hours, the wine ferments at low temperature.

FIN & ELEGANT

ABOUT THE WINERY

CHATEAU HENRI BONNAUD

The vineyard is located in le Tholonet near Aix-en-Provence at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire mountain. The slopes are south-facing limestone chalk and eroded rock that together creates unique conditions. One half of the winery is Palette - the oldest Grand Cru in Provence - the other half is in Provence. The appellation Côtes de Provence - Sainte Victoire - was created in 2005 after careful selection of plots at the foot of Sainte Victoire, where the microclimate is special with south-facing slopes and limestone and special soils.

General grape descriptions

Grenache

Grenache is an unlikely hero of a grape. Until recently reviled or at best ignored in much of the world, it is the grape chiefly responsible for two of the world's more celebrated reds, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and, a more recent star, Priorat.

Cinsault

Also spelled as Cinsaut. Widely planted throughout southern France and Corsica (where it is now being ripped out at a great rate). With its lighter skins and soft perfume it is particularly suitable for rosés and fruity, early-drinking reds, although low yields are needed to eke out much flavour. It has the advantage over Grenache of being easy to pick by machine.
