TAPS Winebar

Kelleris Vingaard

Utopia Fransk Barrique

BALANCED & FULL-BODIED

A concentrated scent of dark berries; cherries and blackberries, directly from the forest. Finnish licorice and sweet vanilla notes from the barrel storage.
A smell that offers freshness and promises fullness in the taste.
In the mouth the wine is guided by the fruit, black pickled cherries and then wet tobacco and liquorice.
Both fruit acid and tannin are well put in place by many years of storage.
Good mouthfeel and a fine balance between ripe black fruit and secondary classic notes from the barrel aging on the French barriques.
Balanced aftertaste where the fruit develops fine and clean.
A wine that in its own way shows a wide range of exciting facets, which is not always expected from the Rondo grape.

BALANCERET & FYLDIG

ABOUT THE WINERY

KELLERIS VINGAARD

Kelleris Vingaard is located in North Zealand close to the Øresund coast - in the beautiful protected area in the hinterland of the Louisiana Museum and Krogerup High School. The winery is owned by Susanne and Søren Hartvig Jensen. The vineyard was established in 2001. On a southeast-facing slope with favorable growth conditions, the first 1000 vines of various varieties were planted. The following year, another 3,000 vines of the Rondo variety were planted. Today, the vineyard has a total of 4200 vines spread over 1.3 hectares - corresponding to approx. 6 kilometers of wine trellis. In 2007, the winery built its own underground winery, where all processes in connection with winemaking take place.

General grape descriptions

Rondo

The Rondo grape typically does not create easy red wines, but wines that require a little work. Rondo must have time, so first the wine must be stored for a long time in barrels, then for several years in bottle, but that does not make it fragile. When you want to enjoy it, it still needs some air to show its charming sides. It is strong red wine, with good intensity and fullness.
