Colombelle Sélection Rosé

WINE 72

FRESH & CRISPY

Delicious rosé, fresh and crisp with open fruit, a hint of fruit sweetness and hints of ripe berries such as currants and blackcurrants as well as citrus. The fine acidity is perfectly balanced with the fruit.

The grapes are Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot with short maceration to get the beautiful pink color.

ABOUT THE WINERY

PLAIMONT

Plaimont is one of the world's most well - run cooperatives just north of the Pyrenees, where 1000 wine growers work together to deliver quality every year. Hot days and cold nights are a good starting point for supple and juicy wine. Leaves to the east are taken by the vines to give the cool morning sun access to the grapes, buds are removed to keep the yield down, and harvested at night to preserve the acidity. Colombelle was created by André Daguin (then also a 3-star Michelin chef) and Plaimonts founder André Dubosc. The wine is made by Cédric Garzuel, who calls it "a modern, fruity original wine".

General grape descriptions

Merlot

Merlot wine has similarities with Cabernet Sauvignon although less intense and with tannins more soft. Its color is purple red, with aromas of blackberries and black plums, complex and elegant, full-bodied, with low acidity. On the palate is smooth and very balanced.

Cabernet Sauvignon

The world’s most popular red wine grape is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc from Bordeaux, France. Cabernet Sauvignon is loved for its high concentration and age-worthiness.
