Quinta dos Roques Tinto Reserva is a so-called single field field blend from Roques. So a blend where the grape composition is determined by how the varieties have been planted in the field. But not all the varieties in this field are known. So when Roques lists the grape varieties in this wine, 10% is listed as "Other". By the way, this is the most common grape variety in Portugal. The wine has a deep, dark and clear color. An intense and fruity bouquet with notes of blackcurrant and pine needles. In addition, notes of chocolate and vanilla from barrel aging for 12 months after the fermentation, which took place in stainless steel, with 13 days maceration. The wine has a generous and large body, with stringent acid and great tanines.

Quinta dos Roques Tinto Reserva er et såkaldt enkeltmarks field blend fra Roques. Altså et blend, hvor druesammensætningen afgøres af hvordan sorterne er blevet plantet på marken. Men det er ikke alle sorterne på denne mark, der er kendt. Så når Roques oplister druesorterne i denne vin, er 10 % anført som "Andre". Dette er forresten den hyppigst forekomne druesort i Portugal. Vinen har en dyb, mørk og klar farve. En intens og frugtig bouquet med noter af solbær og fyrrenåle. Hertil kommer noter af chokolade og vanilje fra fadlagring i 12 måneder efter gæringen, som foregik på rustfrit stål, med 13 dages maceration. Vinen har en generøs og stor krop, med stringent syre og flotte taniner.

ABOUT THE WINERY
QUINTA DOS ROQUES
Quinta dos Roques, situated in the small hamlet of Abrunhosa do Mato between Mangualde and Nelas, is a fine example of the spirit with which the new Dão is being created. Vines and wines have been part of the everyday life of the family here for over a century, though production at one
time was little more than that needed for household consumption.
At the beginning of the 1980s, however, a new page was turned in the history of the quinta. The original system of cultivating vines by hand and delivering the grapes to the local co-operative ended, and a project designed to produce high-quality Dão wines was introduced.
Quinta dos Roques has now around 35 hectares of modern vines, which are notable for the quality of the grapes produced.
Quinta dos Roques, beliggende i den lille landsby Abrunhosa do Mato mellem Mangualde og Nelas, er et fint eksempel på den ånd, hvorpå den nye Dão skabes. Vin og vin har været en del af familiens hverdag her i over et århundrede, skønt produktion på et tidspunkt blev til lidt mere end den, der var nødvendig til husholdningens forbrug. I begyndelsen af 1980'erne blev der imidlertid vendt en ny side i quintaens historie. Det oprindelige system med dyrkning af vinstokke i hånden og levering af druerne til det lokale kooperativ sluttede, og et projekt designet til at producere Dão-vin af høj kvalitet blev indført. Quinta dos Roques har nu omkring 35 ha moderne vinstokke, som er kendt for kvaliteten af de producerede druer.
