WINE 8

RIPE & FRUITY

A scent of red berries; raspberries and a little rhubarb stalk.
Rose petals and sage settle to the bottom of the scent and are complemented nicely by fruit and sweet spice tones from the barrels.
Slightly developed dried nuances in the nose with leather and tobacco box.
The taste is spicy with barrel notes at first and then comes the pure red fruit with raspberries and sweet cherries.
The acid tightens a little over the fruit and the wine's tannins slowly dry out.
The age of the wine is clearly felt with slightly developed notes of leather and chocolate. But the sometimes angular Rondo grape is here riped into a wine that brings to mind classic well-ripened wine from Southern Europe.

MODEN & FRUGTIG

ABOUT THE WINERY

KELLERIS VINGAARD

Kelleris Vingaard is located in North Zealand close to the Øresund coast - in the beautiful protected area in the hinterland of the Louisiana Museum and Krogerup High School. The winery is owned by Susanne and Søren Hartvig Jensen. The vineyard was established in 2001. On a southeast-facing slope with favorable growth conditions, the first 1000 vines of various varieties were planted. The following year, another 3,000 vines of the Rondo variety were planted. Today, the vineyard has a total of 4200 vines spread over 1.3 hectares - corresponding to approx. 6 kilometers of wine trellis. In 2007, the winery built its own underground winery, where all processes in connection with winemaking take place.

General grape descriptions

Rondo

The Rondo grape typically does not create easy red wines, but wines that require a little work. Rondo must have time, so first the wine must be stored for a long time in barrels, then for several years in bottle, but that does not make it fragile. When you want to enjoy it, it still needs some air to show its charming sides. It is strong red wine, with good intensity and fullness.
